Cuba
Slams US Terror Shelter
Havana,
Apr 19 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Parliament President Ricardo Alarcon
reiterated his country´s accusations against the United States
for protecting terrorist Luis Posada Carriles with legal conspiracies.
In a solemn act held Wednesday on occasion of the 100th birthday
of Raul Roa (1907-1982), Alarcon said that Washington "has
spent two years protecting Posada Carriles with legal maneuvering
to evade extraditing him to Venezuela or trying him as terrorist."
"We must return to the thoughts of Roa, known as the Chancellor
of Dignity, because Cuba s dangers are immense," the National
Peoples Power Assembly (Congress) president stated.
Addressing
leaders gathered at Havana University s Aula Magna, Alarcon denounced
that the US government, led by President George W.
Bush,
spends hundreds of millions of dollars against the island.
While
protecting Posada Carriles, noted Alarcon, the White House maintains
for almost nine years five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters in prison,
whose mission was to prevent Miami-based terrorist groups from attacking
Cuba.
Both
cases, pointed out the island s Congressional leader, currently
prove the US criminal nature and its desire to destroy the Cuban
Revolution.
