By:
Ariel Ramírez Fernández
Only
two years after consolidating the radio worldwide, in 1922 the first
Cuban Radio Station was created.
From
then on, other radio stations appeared, most of them in Havana,
the capital of Cuba
and few in other territories. The one founded in Palma
Soriano would be the sites and different the names that
it would adopt according to the epoch: Radio Valpin, Radio Palma...
The
last name was adopted after the victory of the Revolution: Radio
Baragua because of the historical protest carried out by Antonio
Maceo due to a peace proposal made by Spain in 1878.
This
radio station has been on air for more than 70 years what makes
of it, one of the oldest is Cuba.
Before
1959 it offered news, music and a gigantic publicity to promote
a variety of products and services.
CMKZ,
Radio Baragua, voice of the Cauto River transmits 15 hours a day
with a varied programming that includes information, music programs
dedicated to children, adolescents, young people, housewives, students
and workers.
That
is why this radio Station shows how people from Palma Soriano are,
for that reason they are proud of it say it’s their choice.
