of Cuban Heroine Vilma Espin Buried in Eastern Cuba
Santiago de Cuba, June 22, 2009 (RHC)-The remains of Cuban heroine
Vilma Espin were buried on Friday with military honors at the Frank
Pais Second Eastern Front Mausoleum.
During the family ceremony, floral wreaths from President Fidel
Castro, First Vice President Raul Castro, sons, daughters, grandchildren,
combatants from the Rebel Army as well as the Cuban people in general
were placed before the masoleum.
Vilma Espin´s ashes were placed by her husband Raul Castro
inside a large granitic stone which symbolizes the strength of the
Revolution, surrounded by five palm trees and five rifles, a small
forest and the historic words of Fidel to Raul, "7 rifles and
now we will win the war".
